Employee Spotlight with Sarah Caulton (2024)

The OnPoint Spotlight is an ongoing blog series that highlights our employees, celebrating the drive and personality of individuals on our team. It’s one way we show our appreciation for their hard work and achievements while helping our community get to know the people who make things happen here at OnPoint.

This week’s employee spotlight is on Sarah Caulton, Contact Center Supervisor. Sarah is a dedicated wife and mother of two. In her free time, she volunteers as a Court-Appointed Specialist Advocate, advocating for children in the foster care system. She has been doing this for four years now.

Here’s what Sarah had to share about her life and time at OnPoint:

What were you doing before joining OnPoint or taking on your current role?

Before joining OnPoint I was managing a large team for one of the largest financial institutions in America. During COVID, I was eager for change. One day, as I was driving home, I saw an OnPoint billboard sign that said something along the lines of “Large banks are closing branches, but we’re expanding.” I thought, “Wow. OnPoint members and employees must be really happy right now”. Long story short, I applied for a supervisor position and got the job! I have been so happy here at OnPoint. The change was scary, but looking back, I realize thatit is one of the best decisions I have made for myself in a really long time.

Who inspires you?

My husband, son and daughter. My children give me super powers. They make me want to be a better person every single day. I know they are watching me, I want to be their best role model and I want the best lives for them. My husband inspires me because he is so strong, patient and loving.

What excites you so much that it keeps you awake the night before?

Definitely traveling! My family and I are addicted to international cruise trips. So far, we’ve been on two seven-day Mexican Riviera trips and a seven-day Caribbean cruise. Anytime we travel I never get much sleep the night before we head to the airport because my excitement keeps me up all night.

Which sports teams do you root for?

I am not a huge sports fan, so I think the obvious answer is the team my children play for: Aloha Warriors. My son has been playing football for four years, and my daughter has been cheering for two. I consider myself a shy and quiet person, but after my son started playing football, I really got into the sport. I am most definitely one of the loudest parents sitting in the bleachers.

What’s the one thing you’ve waited in line the longest for?

Do you remember when PlayStation® 5 came out in 2020? It was the hottest item in the market and the hardest thing to get your hands on. My husband caught wind of them selling at our local Fred Meyers. Our son really wanted one for Christmas, and we wanted to surprise him. So we stood in line for a total of seven hours. Long story short, Christmas was a hit. Totally worth it!

Who was your most influential school teacher? Why?

Hands down my elementary school teacher, Mrs. DeJong. She was the first teacher to show me love and compassion. I was able to be my true authentic self in her classroom. Some of my best childhood memories were spent in her classroom.

When I turned 16 years old, I got a job at a local pizza shop. I needed to open a checking account so I could deposit my paychecks. A close friend recommended OnPoint, and I have been a loyal member ever since.Every timeI interacted with an OnPoint employee, I received the best service. Now that I am an employee of OnPoint myself, I understand why employees are always so happy and go above and beyond. It’s because OnPoint continuously shows appreciation. I am a firm believer that a person who feels appreciated will always do more than whatis expected. Our tagline, “People are the Point,” could not be any more perfect for OnPoint. We truly prioritize our members, and I feel prioritized as an OnPoint employee.
